BE A SANTA TO A SENIOR 2016

Join our efforts to help bring some holiday cheer to some of the neediest and loneliest seniors in our community!!  This holiday season, the Racine County Bar Association is participating in the “Be a Santa to a Senior” program in partnership with Home Instead Senior Care.

What:   The Racine County Bar Association has “adopted” 50 seniors to provide them with much needed essentials.  The seniors that participate in this program live in our community and typically have no family and are low-income.  Each senior fills out an ornament tag that lists his or her desires for a gift to receive on Christmas (see example below).  These basic needs gift requests range from warm winter clothing accessories to grocery store gift cards to personal hygiene products.

How to Participate:  At our next membership dinner on November 21, 2016 there will be ornament tags set out for those who wish to participate.   Simply choose a tag, then purchase the gift(s), wrap and return with the tag during the December 2nd Holiday Party or drop off at any of the following locations:

  1. Foley, Shannon, Powers & Rusch, S.C.
7200 Washington Avenue (first suite on left)
  2. Public Defender’s Office
    420- 6th Street
  3. 840 Lake Avenue, 3rd Floor
  4. Racine County Courthouse, 4th floor (or basement for courthouse employees)

For those attorneys who are unable to attend either event, please contact Devin Stasek to receive a tag.

The deadline for gift drop off is December 9, 2016.   Each senior will ask for something different or may list several items.  Please note that not all listed items are required to be purchased, but if you wish to do so, please do!  The total gift value of an ornament tag ranges from $10.00-$40.00; however, this is only a suggestion.  Please help us bring some comfort and joy to our local seniors this Christmas!

Please contact Devin Stasek at 262/619-9000 if you have any questions.
